1. A usable plot plan
Prepare the area, boundaries, distances, elevation differences and water supply location. Identify crops, access points and machinery routes. A scaled plan and photographs help the initial discussion; critical measurements need confirmation on site.
2. Available flow and pressure
Specify whether water comes from a borehole, reservoir or network. Provide measured flow and pressure at the supply point, including measurement conditions. A pump’s advertised flow alone does not establish the available flow at the required pressure. Describe supply variations and any sand or suspended material.
3. Pumping, filtration and pipes
For an existing pump, share its model, performance curve and electrical supply details. Include known pipe lengths and diameters. The study considers elevation and pressure losses to select a coherent system. Filtration depends on water quality and the selected equipment’s requirements.
4. Zoning and Floppy Sprinkler layout
Zones organise network operation around the available water and farm requirements. An overhead installation also requires examination of supports, cables, height and access. Sprinkler spacing and operating pressure must be checked against model documentation and site constraints.
5. A clearly defined quotation
Ask the quotation to distinguish design, equipment, installation works and commissioning. Clarify the plans, calculation assumptions and items included in the equipment schedule. A price per hectare alone does not allow a meaningful comparison between proposals.
Start with the location, crop, area and available water data. IRRIGARE will review missing information with you before confirming the configuration and quotation.
